Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ivo Tavares took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the game, Rubiao's Ricardinho Cosme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Quintal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Ivo Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Rolao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo Tavares couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 11 in the game by Valdo Paiva from a close distance when the talented Léo Martins managed to make a qualified save. Rubiao's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Cosme in the 13th minute of play forced Rolao's goalkeeper Marcelo Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Quintal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beto Mota went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 18th match minute, Rubiao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Mota to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Rubiao getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. In the 24th minute, Valdo Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Ivo Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rolao's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivo Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelo Quintal came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Rubiao's Beto Mota. But to his dismay, Beto Mota quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luiz Leme during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rubiao's Sílvio Luiz Leme got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 47th minute, Beto Mota ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Quintal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardinho Cosme to make the kick off. Sílvio Luiz Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ricardinho Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beto Mota in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcelo Quintal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rubiao were furious when Rodolfo Cavalcante was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 60 minutes into the game, one of Rubiao:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Rolao. Eusébio Rossi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Léo Martins. 2-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beto Mota got free with Marcelo Quintal in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ivo Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivo Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Léo Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivo Tavares struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Léo Martins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rolao. In the 73rd minute, Ivo Tavares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Léo Martins was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Paiva in the 77th minute of play forced Rubiao's goalkeeper Léo Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Martins having to interfere. If Beto Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rolao's Ivo Tavares in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rubiao's goalie prevented a goal. The Rubiao supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rubiao would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
