Cassilandia's Carlos Alberto Saraiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Cassilandia from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that André de Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abelardo Ferreira was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Elói Medeiros hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Cassilandia's Danilo Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abelardo Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Cassilandia's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Saraiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cido Velloso. André de Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Ferreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André de Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Fontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abelardo Ferreira was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Abelardo Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Hermes in the 28th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Fontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abelardo Ferreira was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Abelardo Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Saraiva having to interfere. After the first half Cassilandia were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Haroldo Fontes made the kick off in the second half. Abelardo Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mateus Hermes's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Abelardo Ferreira made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when André de Queiroz sent off a good shot on target. Danilo Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes Pomba SS got a freekick which was hit by Gino Araújo. Abelardo Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo Fontes's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Abelardo Ferreira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Haroldo Fontes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 70 minute of play. Pomba SS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Haroldo Fontes 73 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. Danilo Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Abelardo Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cassilandia booed when Pomba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Eduardo Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Danilo Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Pomba SS's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Fontes came free, but Abelardo Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mateus Hermes in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abelardo Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 88 minutes into the match, Haroldo Fontes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Abelardo Ferreira, 0-6. Cassilandia's André de Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Haroldo Fontes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abelardo Ferreira. Pomba SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Haroldo Fontes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Cassilandia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
