Remo da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmundo Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Cunha having to interfere. Edmundo Hoffmann took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remo da Cunha. Remo da Cunha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 18th match minute, Araripe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim Gomes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Pimenta in the 19th minute of play forced Araripe's goalkeeper Remo da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Araripe's Remo da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Hoffmann in the 22nd minute of play. Aníbal Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Cunha having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodolfo Pena in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hílton Catarinense saved trovão azul fc from getting behind. A collision led to trovão azul fc getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Edmundo Hoffmann hit a great ball. Edmundo Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Cunha having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Araripe's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Hoffmann came free, but Remo da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Aníbal Varela came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the trovão azul fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Varela couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Hoffmann in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo da Cunha saved Araripe from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Araripe's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Varela came free, but Remo da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo Pena to make the kick off. When Leandro Faustino fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araripe's protests and gave Leandro Faustino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Araripe getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Leandro Faustino hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique de Castro in the 59th minute of play forced trovão azul fc's goalkeeper Hílton Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remo da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Varela in the 61st minute of the match. If Enrique de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes trovão azul fc got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho de Castro. Araripe's Benjamim Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Remo da Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Hoffmann in the 68th minute. A collision led to Araripe getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Dedê Arósio hit a great ball. If Rodolfo Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th match minute, Araripe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Arósio to maneuver through the defense. Enrique de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. trovão azul fc had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
