After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Cléber Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orienta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléber Valadares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho Montenegro during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Toninho Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 played minutes, Orienta EC's Edvaldo Alves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Pedro Leme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Orienta EC reached it. Tiago Gabriel Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Fontes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Abraão in the 24th minute of play forced Orienta EC's goalkeeper Zeca Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Orienta EC's André Luiz de Amaral got a free kick in the 26th minute. Valdomiro da Mata charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdomiro da Mata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valdomiro da Mata hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Jorginho Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of Piraua AD booed when Orienta EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdomiro da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Orienta EC's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Gabriel Queiroz came free, but Zeca Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeca Fontes came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Piraua AD's Tiago Gabriel Queiroz. But to his dismay, Tiago Gabriel Queiroz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, Piraua AD's José Pedro Leme got control of the ball when Anderson Borges tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Anderson Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Piraua AD's Ademar Trigo got a free kick in the 45th minute. Edvaldo Alves, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vivaldo Abraão to make the kick off. Vivaldo Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Orienta EC's Anderson Borges in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Piraua AD's goalie prevented a goal. José Pedro Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Valadares in the 56th minute of play. José Pedro Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. A collision led to Piraua AD getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Juarês Eger hit a great ball. When Ademar Trigo fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piraua AD's protests and gave Ademar Trigo a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Piraua AD got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Trigo. 69 minutes into the match, Piraua AD's goal looked a bit too open when Anderson Borges came free, but José Pedro Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Anderson Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Toninho Montenegro was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Anderson Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orienta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pedro Leme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Pedro Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléber Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cléber Valadares in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Pedro Leme saved Piraua AD from getting behind. José Pedro Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléber Valadares in the 92nd minute of the match. Cléber Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Juarês Eger fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piraua AD's protests and gave Juarês Eger a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Piraua AD's Juarês Eger got a free kick in the 96th minute. Anderson Borges took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Pedro Leme. José Pedro Leme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. There was no doubt that Orienta EC were the better team. Orienta EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
