Eduardo Catarinense hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Augusto Rossi during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Iuiu SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Jarbas Guedes, was totally fooled by Cajueiro's Cesinha Gaspar, who 8 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 15 minutes into the match, Iuiu SC's Raúl Vander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sílvio de Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 17th minute Leandro Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cajueiro's Nicolas Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Raúl Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iuiu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio de Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 24 minutes, Leandro Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iuiu SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leandro Ramalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Iuiu SC's Raúl Vander in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cajueiro's goalie prevented a goal. When Cajueiro's Gilvan de Medeiros in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iuiu SC's goalie prevented a goal. After 34 played minutes Iuiu SC got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Leão. In the 36th match minute, Iuiu SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho Leão to maneuver through the defense. In the 37thth minute of the game Gilvan de Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iuiu SC's Jarbas Guedes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raúl Vander charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raúl Vander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Iuiu SC's Raúl Vander got a free kick in the 38th minute. Jarbas Guedes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilvan de Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Gilvan de Medeiros made the kick off in the second half. Jarbas Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilvan de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, João Augusto Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicolas Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Guedes having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Gilvan de Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cajueiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Jarbas Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilvan de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Jarbas Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Ramalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Iuiu SC's zone, Gilvan de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarbas Guedes came out of the goal and Gilvan de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cajueiro's Gilvan de Medeiros in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iuiu SC's goalie prevented a goal. Nicolas Moura struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Jarbas Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cajueiro.
