The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vermes SS's Lucas Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Faustino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilson Pombal in the 5th minute. Felipe Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Bernardo Faustino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilson Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Bernardo Faustino made a huge save. Juvenal Félix struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Lucas Secco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vermes SS. After having played for 15 minutes, Juvenal Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vermes SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juvenal Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Vermes SS booed when Tauapeacu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vermes SS's Lucas Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Aníbal Arce fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tauapeacu EC's protests and gave Aníbal Arce a yellow card for diving instead. Aníbal Arce kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Felipe Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Nilson Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tauapeacu EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nilson Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Faustino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Tauapeacu EC's Nilton Donato got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Lucas Prado came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Vermes SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Prado couldn't finish the play. After having played for 40 minutes, Adrianinho Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vermes SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrianinho Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucas Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lucas Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Faustino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felipe Rezende showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 45 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Vermes SS's zone, Felipe Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Faustino came out of the goal and Felipe Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juvenal Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Secco having to interfere. Juvenal Félix took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucas Secco. Lucas Secco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 61 minutes, Nilson Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tauapeacu EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilson Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Lucas Prado put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Lucas Secco. Juvenal Félix's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 71stth minute, Lucas Secco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lucas Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Faustino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Nilson Pombal scored 2-3 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Faustino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Vermes SS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
