Bernardo Faustino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Costa in the 9th minute of play. Xixebal's Telmo Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juvenal Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, one of Vermes SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vermes SS. Vermes SS:s Bernardo Faustino showed great skill when he stopped Léo Oliveira:s penalty. Telmo Costa struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Bernardo Faustino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xixebal. When Antônio Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Xixebal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Veiga couldn't finish the play. After 45 minutes of play, Xixebal's Romeu Bertassi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Faustino was left in no man's land by his defense there!

If Lucas Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Juvenal Félix's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reginaldo Queiroz was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Antônio Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Bernardo Faustino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Queiroz having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Vermes SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Telmo Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Antônio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 74 minutes in the game, Telmo Costa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bernardo Faustino having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Juvenal Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vermes SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juvenal Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Túlio Correia's late challenge caught a Vermes SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Túlio Correia helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 minutes Xixebal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Reginaldo Prado who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Vermes SS's Mané da Cunha getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Juvenal Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Reginaldo Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Túlio Correia hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Xixebal's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
