The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dito Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Rosa in the 5th minute of play. Roberto Rosa struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Dito Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SergioVasco. 13 minutes into the match, Neopolis's Juninho Pinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles Custódio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, Neopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Rosa came free, but Dito Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, SergioVasco's Edinho Maia made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dito Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, Neopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Wanderson Bastos came free, but Dito Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Mathias Guimarães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dito Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geovânio Nascimento who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Charles Custódio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Charles Custódio made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Geovânio Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Juninho Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juninho Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SergioVasco booed when Neopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 played minutes, SergioVasco's Mathias Guimarães shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dito Quirino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SergioVasco reached it. In the 32nd minute, Pedrinho de Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Charles Custódio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 34 played minutes Neopolis got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Pinho. After 38 played minutes SergioVasco got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Guimarães. Charles Custódio was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Juninho Pinho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Juninho Pinho really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Charles Custódio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Dionísio in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the match, SergioVasco's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Pinho came free, but Charles Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charles Custódio was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Roberto Dionísio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Roberto Dionísio really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mathias Guimarães made a kick off. After 61 played minutes Neopolis got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Pimenta. SergioVasco's Mathias Guimarães was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dito Quirino in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 65th minute, SergioVasco's Wanderson Bastos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. A collision led to SergioVasco getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Almir Macedo hit a great ball. With a little luck, Neopolis's Dito Quirino got control of the ball when Wanderson Bastos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wanderson Bastos got free with Dito Quirino in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edinho Maia hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 81 minutes, Pedro Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SergioVasco and the Neopolis players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Neopolis booed when SergioVasco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Neopolis's Diego Montenegro in action when he in the 83rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! SergioVasco's Charles Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Nascimento in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Edinho Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias Guimarães got free with Dito Quirino in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Charles Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. SergioVasco's Roberto Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mathias Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the SergioVasco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias Guimarães couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
