William Leal started the match with the kick off. In the 11th minute William Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliézer do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Hélio Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jeriquaquara SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélio Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matías Furtado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dinei Lopes hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Hélio Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Jeriquaquara SS booed when Ternura EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matías Furtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egídio Moraes in the 26th minute. Luís Gustavo Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliézer do Valle having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, William Leal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliézer do Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 38th minute, Hélio Magalhães fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Matías Furtado, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Ternura EC's zone, Hélio Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matías Furtado came out of the goal and Hélio Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélio Magalhães was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Haroldo Loureiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jeriquaquara SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ternura EC the free kick. 55 minutes into the game, one of Jeriquaquara SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Perivaldo Proença fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ternura EC's protests and gave Perivaldo Proença a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Gustavo Zanettes short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Eliézer do Valle to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 75th match minute, Ternura EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu Araújo to maneuver through the defense. If Egídio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Hélio Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ternura EC's Matías Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Magalhães in the 86th minute of play. If Luís Gustavo Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Luís Gustavo Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. William Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Eliézer do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Ternura EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ternura EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
