Guareta AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when William Leal scored to the left of an out of position Kléberson Cardoso, making the score, 1-0. Matías Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, Ternura EC's Oscar de Queiroz got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Teodoro Amaral struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Matías Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guareta AD. The supporters of Ternura EC booed when Guareta AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Kléberson Cardoso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zé Augusto Alcântara took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matías Furtado. Matías Furtado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Zé Augusto Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th match minute, Ternura EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Britto to maneuver through the defense. Kléberson Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Leal in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Guareta AD were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Augusto Alcântara to make the kick off. Matías Furtado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodoro Amaral went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Guareta AD's Erik Pombal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Erik Pombal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Guareta AD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Erik Pombal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 68 minutes into the game, one of Guareta AD:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Ternura EC a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eurico Paraíba, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Guareta AD's Kléberson Cardoso. 3-4. Kléberson Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Zanette in the 77th minute of play forced Guareta AD's goalkeeper Kléberson Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matías Furtado didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 3-5. 88 minutes into the match, Guareta AD's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Britto came free, but Kléberson Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Teodoro Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 99th minute, Guareta AD's Teodoro Amaral dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-7. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Guareta AD eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
