Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilson Varela to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Nilson Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Vander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes into the game, David Brito recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mané Ferraz. The supporters of Maxixe SC booed when Tamanqueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Noel Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Edson da Silveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tamanqueira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After having played for 81 minutes, Noel Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Tamanqueira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joélson Vander should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Edson da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamanqueira's supporters rose to their feet, but Edson da Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tamanqueira's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
