Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Didi Mota kicked off to start the match. Marcelo's Erasmo de Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 7 played minutes Canuma got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Simões. Cláudio Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo de Queiroz in the 13th minute of the match. Erasmo de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Cláudio Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Erasmo de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Valadares kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Didi Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo Cabral having to interfere. Canuma's Cláudio Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Dias in the 33rd minute of play. If Erasmo de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute Zeca Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Marcelo defense, Denílson Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Gustavo Cabral. The Marcelo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Gustavo Cabral should have stopped the shot.
In the 52nd minute, Zeca Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marcelo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Marcinho Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcinho Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Canuma's Marcinho Almeida got a free kick in the 56th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Marcelo's Leandro Soares tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Erasmo de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Didi Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zeca Dias came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Marcelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeca Dias couldn't finish the play. In the 68th match minute, Marcelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Claudinei Fernandez, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 70th match minute, Marcelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Gustavo Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Didi Mota's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After 78 minutes, Carlos Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canuma and the Marcelo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denílson Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo Cabral having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Mota in the 85th minute of play forced Marcelo's goalkeeper Luiz Gustavo Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Didi Mota in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Gustavo Cabral saved Marcelo from getting behind. In the 95thth minute of the game Didi Mota who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marcelo's Luiz Gustavo Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
