Hélder Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Loureiro in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Almfala EC's zone, Sílvio Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Saldanha came out of the goal and Sílvio Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alex Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zézinho Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Hélder Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Sílvio Motta made a precise shot to the right of Hélder Saldanha. Almfala EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 24th minute, Mateus de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélder Saldanha came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Quixoba's Sílvio Motta. But to his dismay, Sílvio Motta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Quixoba's zone, Alex Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Tavares came out of the goal and Alex Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Almfala EC's Hélder Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Motta in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Zézinho Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Sílvio Motta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Samuel Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Telmo Tavares made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Samuel Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
In the 52nd minute, Quixoba's Sílvio Motta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hélder Saldanha. Hélder Saldanha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Sílvio Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Saldanha having to interfere. Zézinho Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Hélder Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Quixoba booed when Almfala EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademir Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisinho da Rocha charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luisinho da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd match minute, Almfala EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Motta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hélder Saldanha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Zézinho Loureiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Hélder Saldanha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hélder Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zézinho Loureiro went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. The Quixoba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Quixoba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
