Ramiro Neiva made in the 9th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Fabrício Ribeiro immediately put the ball in play. Diogo de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Arce in the 10th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Renato da Mata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arroio do Sal EC and the Balaco players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Arroio do Sal EC's Renato da Mata got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Gualter Arce made a precise shot to the right of Diogo de Godoi. Arroio do Sal EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 24 minutes into the game, Balaco's Gualter Arce nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diogo de Godoi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Diogo de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Gilvan Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Arroio do Sal EC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Cleiton da Silva hit a great ball. Ramiro Neiva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diogo de Godoi. Arroio do Sal EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arroio do Sal EC's Diogo de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Ribeiro in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Arce in the 35th minute of play forced Arroio do Sal EC's goalkeeper Diogo de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Renato da Mata was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. Renato da Mata hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Arroio do Sal EC's Diogo de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Ribeiro in the 42nd minute of play. José Maria de Carvalho came free in the 47th minute and tried to tip the ball over Fernandinho Terra, but to the joy of Balaco's supporters the ball went over. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 57th match minute, Arroio do Sal EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. Fabrício Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Diogo de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Arce in the 61st minute of play forced Arroio do Sal EC's goalkeeper Diogo de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gualter Arce was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 62nd minute. Balaco's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Arroio do Sal EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Gualter Arce scored to the left of an out of position Diogo de Godoi, making the score, 0-3. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Arroio do Sal EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Umberto do Valle was slow to take the kick. During this time Balaco's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Umberto do Valle got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Diogo de Godoi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Arroio do Sal EC's zone, Fabrício Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diogo de Godoi came out of the goal and Fabrício Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Arce in the 80th minute of play forced Arroio do Sal EC's goalkeeper Diogo de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arroio do Sal EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Gualter Arce scored to the left of an out of position Diogo de Godoi, making the score, 0-5. Diogo de Godoi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gualter Arce showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 89 minute of play.
