MACUMBA's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademar Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Branco during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th minute, Norberto Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ademar Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Queirós having to interfere. MACUMBA's Norberto Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademar Neves in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulão Queirós saved Machadinha from getting behind. Ademar Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Queirós having to interfere. Paulão Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renatinho Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tião Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robinho Valladares to strike the kick off in the second half. Natã Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to MACUMBA getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dedê Recife hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Ademar Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademar Neves in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulão Queirós saved Machadinha from getting behind. After 64 minutes, Natã Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MACUMBA and the Machadinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Machadinha booed when MACUMBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Michel Xavier sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and MACUMBA's Renatinho Reis didn't even have to move. Tião Oliveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Renatinho Reis made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tião Oliveira got free with Renatinho Reis in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76thth minute of the game Ademar Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Machadinha's Paulão Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Machadinha's goal looked a bit too open when Ademar Neves came free, but Paulão Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Tião Oliveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renatinho Reis. MACUMBA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tião Oliveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 85 minutes, Norberto Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MACUMBA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 86 played minutes Machadinha got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Valladares. In the 91st match minute, Machadinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Quintal to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademar Neves in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulão Queirós saved Machadinha from getting behind. Chants of Machadinha echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as MACUMBA had held the ball for most of the match.
