Almofada's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Tostão Leão might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Pirani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Douglas Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Severino Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Almofada's goalkeeper Severino Pirani, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ceara SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tostão Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Pirani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Douglas Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. If Douglas Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Leão in the 92nd minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Ceara SC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
