João de Amorim started the match with the kick off. Dinei Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dráusio Pena charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dráusio Pena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dráusio Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Dorival Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovanni de Mendonça hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Kauan Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Anibal's Reginaldo Meirelles got a free kick in the 18th minute. Patrick Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Kauan Cordeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceara SC. 21 minutes into the game, Ceara SC's Douglas Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kauan Cordeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Douglas Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kauan Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ceara SC's Douglas Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinho Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João de Amorim in the 28th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, João de Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudinho Motta. Ceara SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João de Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Douglas Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauan Cordeiro having to interfere. Dinei Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kauan Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute Dinei Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauan Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kauan Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Douglas Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the match, Anibal's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Medeiros came free, but Kauan Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dinei Mendes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Tostão Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Anibal's Kauan Cordeiro got control of the ball when Douglas Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kauan Cordeiro was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Tostão Leão capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tostão Leão really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. 64 minutes into the game, Ceara SC's Douglas Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kauan Cordeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by João de Amorim in the 68th minute of play forced Ceara SC's goalkeeper Claudinho Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
