Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Berigui's Belmiro de Brito started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When America MG's Jânio Barbosa in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Berigui's goalie prevented a goal. Hernani Pernambucano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nelsinho Xavier having to make a save. In the 16th minute Jânio Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Berigui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Dante to maneuver through the defense. When Waldir Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the America MG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldir Tepedino couldn't finish the play. The supporters of America MG booed when Berigui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 29 minutes on the clock, Jardel Teixeira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Berigui fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! The referee gave America MG a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Téo Teixeira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Berigui's Chicão Jacinto. 1-1. After 33 played minutes America MG got a freekick which was hit by Dida Prado. Dário Queiroz hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Waldir Tepedino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute, Berigui's Hernani Pernambucano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Berigui's Oswaldo Barbosa got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jânio Barbosa to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Pernambucano in the 51st minute of play forced America MG's goalkeeper Nelsinho Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute Hernani Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernani Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Nelsinho Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hernani Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Washington Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Xavier having to interfere. Nelsinho Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After a rather tough play, America MG's Téo Teixeira got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute, Hernani Pernambucano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berigui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Berigui walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
