The audience was convinced that Manuel Mesquita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dário Recife was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. If Sandro Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Curuci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deivid Rosado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvorada FC's Dário Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deivid Rosado in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Curuci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. When Dorian Dante came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Curuci fans jumped to their feet. In the 36th minute, Curuci's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Willian Baptista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 38 minutes into the match, Sandro Machado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Percy Donato. Curuci's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandro Machado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Mesquita to make the kick off. Dário Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Mesquita in the 51st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deivid Rosado got free with Dário Recife in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manuel Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Recife having to interfere. When Curuci's Manuel Mesquita in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Manuel Mesquita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dário Recife read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Waldemar Prata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curuci's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alvorada FC the free kick. Waldemar Prata hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
