When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliézer Gomes to make the kick off. Humberto Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo Urbano in the 52nd minute of play. When Joel Lara came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Ataque fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Lara couldn't finish the play. Humberto Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Urbano in the 66th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Eliézer Gomes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rafa Veiga, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Emílio Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot.
