Osvaldinho Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Machado having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Ernani Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emílio Pires who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Edgard Paraíba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 15th minute, Eliézer Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Ernani Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tremedal's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernani Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernani Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Humberto Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Pernambucano during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Tremedal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. Eliézer Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Osvaldinho Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldinho Severo made a kick off. Emílio Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer Gomes in the 69th minute of play forced Tremedal's goalkeeper Edgard Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Emílio Pires had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Paraíba. Tremedal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emílio Pires was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 81 minutes into the match, Tremedal's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Gomes came free, but Edgard Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Eliézer Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Edgard Paraíba. Tremedal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0.
