Wilton Maranhense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fabiano Brodel went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Renatinho Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Xareu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Veloso couldn't finish the play. Wilton Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 minutes of play, Assembleia's Renatinho Lucas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kléberson Félix was left in no man's land by his defense there! To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
Assembleia's Wilton Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Veloso in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Assembleia booed when Xareu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldir Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Assembleia's Luís Gustavo Souto in action when he in the 58th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Kléberson Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. With 64 minutes on the clock, Luiz Lira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 63 minutes into the game, one of Xareu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kléberson Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 86 played minutes Assembleia got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Lucas. In the 89th minute, Oséas Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Yan Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kléberson Félix was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Yan Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Assembleia's supporters rose to their feet, but Yan Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléberson Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Assembleia had won after a very even match.
