Yan Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Silveira having to interfere. If Yan Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caetano Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Reynaldo Sá could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Wilton Maranhense however easily saved by the left post. In the 19th minute, Caetano Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Cayambe booed when Assembleia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Cayambe's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Lucas came free, but Gonçalo Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Vivaldo Lima fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cayambe's protests and gave Vivaldo Lima a yellow card for diving instead. Vivaldo Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Assembleia's Renatinho Lucas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonçalo Silveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gonçalo Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Renatinho Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Assembleia's Wilton Maranhense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Assembleia from getting a goal against them.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vivaldo Lima was the one to do the kick off. Gonçalo Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Lucas in the 53rd minute of the match. Vivaldo Lima scored 1-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilton Maranhense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th match minute, Assembleia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Souto to maneuver through the defense. Wilton Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Lima in the 68th minute of play. Wilton Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Sá in the 71st minute of the match. Wilton Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesinha Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Assembleia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Caetano Pernambucano hit a great ball. Reynaldo Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Yan Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Assembleia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yan Cunha couldn't finish the play. Renatinho Lucas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Silveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Cayambe's Reynaldo Sá sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilton Maranhense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Renatinho Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Silveira having to interfere. Reynaldo Sá took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilton Maranhense. Wilton Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cayambe had won after a very even match.
