In the 34th minute Jardel Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silas de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juarês de Queirós scored 2-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silas de Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Joaci booed when Comocoxico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juarês de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Silas de Queiroz made a huge save. If Juarês de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jardel Maranhense to strike the kick off in the second half. Silas de Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício de Mendonça in the 54th minute of play. Juarês de Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silas de Queiroz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Luciano Severo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Comocoxico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joaci the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Comocoxico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Severo to maneuver through the defense. Comocoxico's Silas de Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juarês de Queirós in the 66th minute of play. Silas de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Comocoxico's Luciano Severo got his second yellow card of the match in the 72nd minute. The referee ordered Luciano Severo off the ground. Silas de Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joaci. Juarês de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Silas de Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
