Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgar Souto started the match with the kick off. If Ciro Garrido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didi Bittencourt in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Clemente Barreto notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Maquiné Futebol Clube's Teobald Wos. Teobald Wos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dênis Marques came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edson Koehler could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Saracura's Juninho da Rocha got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Saracura's goalkeeper Edson Koehler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Maquiné Futebol Clube's Didi Bittencourt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 26th minute, one of Saracura:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Saracura. 2-2 came through a penalty shot after 27 played minutes, when Maquiné Futebol Clube:s Ciro Garrido calmly waited for Saracura:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Edson Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Garrido, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saracura's goalkeeper Edson Koehler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edson Koehler had great luck who in the 40thth minute grab hold of the ball when Ciro Garrido from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Ciro Garrido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Edson Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Saracura got a freekick which was hit by Natã Meira. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciro Garrido stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Mendonça during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th minute, Samuel Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edson Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dênis Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustão Fonseca's late challenge caught a Maquiné Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustão Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maquiné Futebol Clube booed when Saracura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Barreto got free with Teobald Wos in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Didi Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maquiné Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Didi Bittencourt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edson Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee felt a red card was in order, 70 minutes into the game, when Bebeto Cabral put in a rough tackle. In the 69th minute, one of Maquiné Futebol Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maquiné Futebol Clube. Clemente Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Saracura getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Haroldo Queiroz hit a great ball. Edson Koehler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Garrido in the 78th minute of the match. Ciro Garrido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 81 played minutes Saracura got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Seco. After having played for 84 minutes, Didi Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maquiné Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didi Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maquiné Futebol Clube's Ciro Garrido got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Maquiné Futebol Clube's Abelardo Tepedino got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Saracura's goalkeeper Edson Koehler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Although Maquiné Futebol Clube had been in control for most of the match, Saracura still came away with the win.
