Ariri SC's Luís Guilherme de Alcântara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Ariri SC from getting a goal against them. In the 4th minute Zé Roberto de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Guilherme de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 6 played minutes Ariri SC got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson Urbano. Joel Tasso had several of the Ariri SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 7 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Luís Guilherme de Alcântara as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jonas Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubens de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Telmo Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ariri SC and the Guaranesia players grew even worse after the yellow card. 20 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guaranesia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ariri SC the free kick. Zé Roberto de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Joel Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Guilherme de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Joel Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme de Alcântara having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ariri SC's Alex Alagoano got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Zé Roberto de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jefferson Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute, Zé Roberto de Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 46 played minutes Guaranesia got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto de Almeida. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jefferson Urbano was the one to do the kick off. Joel Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ariri SC's Jefferson Urbano in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guaranesia's goalie prevented a goal. Guaranesia's Jonas Barral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Guaranesia from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute, Jefferson Urbano fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Zé Roberto de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Urbano in the 79th minute of play forced Guaranesia's goalkeeper Jonas Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Guilherme de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Tasso in the 85th minute of the match. Luís Guilherme de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Joel Tasso might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Guilherme de Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Tasso ran back to his position shaking his head. Guaranesia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
