After 26 played minutes Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Sabóia. If Percy Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio do Vale hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

Percy Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Cesinha Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurinho Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Genílson Sabóia fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurinho Silveira got free with Cesinha Pinho in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 79 minutes, Percy Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gomes SC's zone, Maurinho Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesinha Pinho came out of the goal and Maurinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesinha Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marquinhos da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurinho Silveira struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Cesinha Pinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club. Gomes SC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
