Hortêncio Lopez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Otávio Berger's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Gabriel Mendes on his right side and into the goal. 13 minutes into the game it was 0-1. Gabriel Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuca Tasso's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Gabriel Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Mauro Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to Sport Club Condá getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Renatinho Arantes hit a great ball. Otávio Berger was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Condá's Jeferson Nóbrega got a free kick in the 21st minute. When Samuca Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Trigolandia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuca Tasso couldn't finish the play. Samuca Tasso hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Gabriel Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Mineiro got free with Agnaldo Quadros in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 37 played minutes Trigolandia FC got a freekick which was hit by Décio Cabral. When Leonel Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Sport Club Condá fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Valadares couldn't finish the play. After the first half Trigolandia FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Trigolandia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuca Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trigolandia FC's zone, Mauro Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agnaldo Quadros came out of the goal and Mauro Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonel Valadares struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Agnaldo Quadros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Condá. 61 minutes into the match, Trigolandia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Valadares came free, but Agnaldo Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Trigolandia FC's Adalberto Arruda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Leonel Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sport Club Condá booed when Trigolandia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Décio Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hortêncio Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Quadros having to interfere. In the 95th minute Leonel Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
