Amílton de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizinho Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulysses Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílton de Azevedo in the 26th minute of play forced Mairi FC's goalkeeper Luizinho Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dinei Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Saraiva having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Betão Xavier was the one to do the kick off. Luizinho Arce made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Ulysses Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. 60 minutes into the match, Dinei Linares notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Vasconcellos's Oséias Saraiva. Oséias Saraiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luizinho Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton de Azevedo in the 63rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mairi FC's zone, Amílton de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Arce came out of the goal and Amílton de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulysses Cordeiro in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luizinho Arce, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 67th match minute, Mairi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Mairi FC's Hernani dos Santos got a free kick in the 69th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Mairi FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vasconcellos:s goal. The referee gave Vasconcellos a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Benjamim Tepedino, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mairi FC's Luizinho Arce. 1-3. Dinei Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Saraiva having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Amílton de Azevedo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luizinho Arce. Amílton de Azevedo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Ulysses Cordeiro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Luizinho Arce skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 92nd minute, Mairi FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valdomiro Teixeira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 94 played minutes Mairi FC got a freekick which was hit by Hernani dos Santos. The Mairi FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vasconcellos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
