When Dalmo de Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Mairi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dalmo de Queiroz couldn't finish the play. Ramiro Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Betão Xavier notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Inter United's Ramiro Sarmento. Ramiro Sarmento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ramiro Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Jacinto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizinho Arce. Mairi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Jacinto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 32nd match minute, FC Inter United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Arce having to interfere. In the 36th minute, FC Inter United's Leon Motyl ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luizinho Arce. Luizinho Arce yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Gerrit Bell's late challenge caught a Mairi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerrit Bell helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes FC Inter United got a freekick which was hit by Gerrit Bell. With a little luck, Mairi FC's Luizinho Arce got control of the ball when Leon Motyl tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Mairi FC's Betão Xavier got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Osvaldo Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Arce having to interfere. A collision led to Mairi FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Laerte Valadares hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the game, FC Inter United's Leon Motyl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luizinho Arce made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 69 played minutes Mairi FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fernando Brito. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Dinei Linares sped through FC Inter United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ramiro Sarmento. When Betão Xavier came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Mairi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betão Xavier couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Leon Motyl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Mairi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Motyl came free, but Luizinho Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Inter United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mairi FC for a fine match.
