The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apinage SC's Paulão Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Apinage SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulão Pires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonel Cardoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denílson Machado in the 44th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Cerezo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Dorival Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apinage SC's protests and gave Dorival Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. Dorival Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Leonel Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 55th match minute, Apinage SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Mendes to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Machado in the 58th minute of play. Jubaia's Denílson Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Denílson Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Douglas Negri made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Paulão Pires sent off a good shot on target. Richard Cerezo might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Douglas Negri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Richard Cerezo ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Richard Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apinage SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
