In the 3rd minute Artur Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sorocaba booed when Guerreira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. A wasted opportunity for Guerreira. 13 minutes into the match, Sorocaba's Artur Maciel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dé Garcia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sorocaba's Natã Dante got a free kick in the 19th minute. Elias Baiano spun around in front of the goal 31 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Guerreira's goal. Sandrinho Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walmir Abreu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Paulo Quaresma skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Artur Maciel to strike the kick off in the second half. Elias Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dé Garcia having to interfere. Paulo Renato Botelho charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Renato Botelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elias Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dé Garcia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elias Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute, Ediberto Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Quaresma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Seco in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandrinho Seco in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Quaresma saved Sorocaba from getting behind. Walmir Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandrinho Seco in the 88th minute of play forced Sorocaba's goalkeeper Paulo Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
