João Francisco Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Santos having to interfere. After 6 minutes, Vitório Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xapury EC and the Opa players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Xapury EC's Luiz Paulo Santos got control of the ball when Ricardinho Abraão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vitório Figueiredo was shown his second yellow card after 10 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 11th match minute, Xapury EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Opa's Arthur Antunes tried to score from far away in the 13th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardinho Abraão got free with Luiz Paulo Santos in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dadá Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes, Anselmo Velloso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xapury EC and the Opa players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Xapury EC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Anselmo Velloso hit a great ball. When Alberto de Amorim, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 27 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gilberto Barreto was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Alberto de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Roberto Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Gilberto Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Alberto de Amorim made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Barreto. Opa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ricardinho Abraão in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luiz Paulo Santos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ricardinho Abraão was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Dadá Hoffmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Opa's supporters rose to their feet, but Dadá Hoffmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Paulo Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Guilherme Gerber hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Arthur Antunes didn't quite understand what happened when in the 50 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The Opa players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Xapury EC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto de Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the game, Alberto de Amorim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gilberto Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ricardinho Abraão struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Luiz Paulo Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Opa. In the 86th minute, Alberto de Amorim fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Mateus Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dadá Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Paulo Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Augusto Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Ricardinho Abraão put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Paulo Santos.
