Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Renato Paiva took the kick off in the first half of the match. Marcinho Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateus Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. João Francisco Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho Motta having to interfere. Renato Paiva struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Luiz Paulo Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saumama. Renato Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The throw-in from Gildo Penha in the 19th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Saumama's Moisés Félix. Renato Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Paulo Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Saumama fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! A collision led to Xapury EC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Gildo Penha hit a great ball. If Flavinho Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Gildo Penha in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Saumama's Moisés Félix. Moisés Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Santos having to interfere. When William Hames came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Saumama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Hames couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute of the game Gildo Penha made a throw-in which Alberto de Amorim played forward. After 45 played minutes, Xapury EC's Gildo Penha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcinho Motta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Xapury EC reached it. After 45 played minutes Saumama got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Lopes.

Alberto de Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Saumama's Moisés Félix got a free kick in the 59th minute. Marcinho Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto de Amorim in the 60th minute of the match. Marcinho Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto de Amorim in the 63rd minute of play. If João Francisco Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Hames came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luiz Paulo Santos could save by the left post. William Hames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Luiz Paulo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Xapury EC's zone, William Hames stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Santos came out of the goal and William Hames tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Abel Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saumama's protests and gave Abel Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto de Amorim in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcinho Motta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 93 minutes, Sydney Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saumama and the Xapury EC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
