F.C.Siderurgico's Tiaguinho Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save F.C.Siderurgico from getting a goal against them. After 16 played minutes F.C.Siderurgico got a freekick which was hit by Guga Motta. In the 18th minute, Betinho Cavalcante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomás Cruz in the 26th minute of play forced F.C.Siderurgico's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiaguinho Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artur Rossi in the 27th minute. If José Carlos Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artur Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tiaguinho Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Naldo Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Tepedino in the 41st minute of play. Betinho Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Vinhas having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Betinho Cavalcante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Artur Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodriguinho Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Basílio Tepedino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Artur Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tiaguinho Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Naldo Vinhas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. After 77 minutes, Guga Motta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C.Siderurgico and the Canafistinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute of the match Olavo Ceresso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiaguinho Saldanha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 79 minutes into the match, F.C.Siderurgico's goal looked a bit too open when José Carlos Pontes came free, but Tiaguinho Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Canafistinha's Artur Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodrigo Zanette hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. José Carlos Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiaguinho Saldanha having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carlos Pontes in the 91st minute of play forced F.C.Siderurgico's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
