Dionísio Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Leme in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Pajehu booed when Itajuru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo Quaresma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elói Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Pajehu getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Elói Leme hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Itajuru's goal looked a bit too open when Elói Leme came free, but Dionísio Rosado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serginho Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19thth minute of the game Serginho Couto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pajehu's Genílson Massa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anselmo Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Massa having to interfere. Eusébio Chaves kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Dionísio Rosado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edu Guimarães went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Anselmo Negri scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Genílson Massa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elói Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionísio Rosado having to interfere. Edu Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the game, Eusébio Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pajehu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itajuru the free kick. Eusébio Chaves kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Itajuru's Sydney Mello tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elói Leme to strike the kick off in the second half. Genílson Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th play minute Serginho Couto came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Genílson Massa. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Itajuru's Emanuel Urbano got a free kick in the 59th minute. Elói Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionísio Rosado having to interfere. Anselmo Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Genílson Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belmiro Freire was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 77 minutes, Olavo Prestes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itajuru and the Pajehu players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Itajuru getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Olavo Prestes hit a great ball. If Edu Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itajuru's Dionísio Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Guimarães in the 81st minute of play. Anselmo Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Itajuru's Anselmo Negri ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Genílson Massa. Genílson Massa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Edu Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionísio Rosado having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, Itajuru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Prestes to maneuver through the defense. Dionísio Rosado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elói Leme went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Leme in the 94th minute of play forced Itajuru's goalkeeper Dionísio Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, one of Itajuru:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itajuru. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
