Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Janari's Marquinhos Garcia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlos Velasco's late challenge caught a Janari's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Velasco helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Escapole SC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Carlos Velasco hit a great ball. Marcinho Paraense, 8 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 11th minute Dudu Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th play minute Alfredinho Duarte came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Miguel Vinhas. 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Miguel Vinhas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Janari's Miguel Vinhas got control of the ball when Alfredinho Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Janari fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Janari's Marquinhos Garcia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 31st minute, Wiliam Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Janari's Wiliam Gaúcho got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Roberto Couto hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute Dudu Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Alfredinho Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Escapole SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marquinhos Garcia came free, but Mauro Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dudu Moreno made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Cléber Hoffmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Janari's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Escapole SC the free kick. The supporters of Escapole SC booed when Janari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Dudu Moreno sped through Janari's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Miguel Vinhas. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Escapole SC's goalkeeper Mauro Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Janari's Cléber Hoffmann got a free kick in the 75th minute. Miguel Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the match, Janari's goal looked a bit too open when Dudu Moreno came free, but Miguel Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 played minutes Escapole SC got a freekick which was hit by Durval Correia. Marquinhos Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Mauro Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Carlos Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wiliam Gaúcho might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauro Zonta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wiliam Gaúcho ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Escapole SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Janari had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
