In the 23rd minute, Umberto Faria reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Valdemar Massa. The goal made the score 2-0. With 33 minutes on the clock, Paulo Prata commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rossensal SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Pombas AD. Daniel Carneiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hélio da Cunha. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias de Azevedo got free with Valdemar Massa in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Eduardo Rosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdemar Massa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Andrézinho Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio da Cunha having to interfere. Fiori Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valdemar Massa made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Luiz Eduardo Rosa sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

A collision led to Rossensal SS getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ronaldo Eger hit a great ball. In the 56th minute of the match Daniel Carneiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélio da Cunha skillfully saved the ball. Andrézinho Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio da Cunha having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Fiori Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombas AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiori Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fiori Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luiz Eduardo Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fiori Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute.
