The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Ediberto Camargo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Guto Melo to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Itapiuna defense, Frank Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guto Melo. The Itapiuna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guto Melo should have stopped the shot. Ediberto Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Melo having to interfere. Rodolfo Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Miguel Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Itapiuna's Rodolfo Nunes in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Clóvis Mesquita hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Rodolfo Nunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Gomes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Itapiuna's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Marcelo Vieira scored to the left of an out of position Guto Melo, making the score, 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ediberto Camargo to make the kick off. Benê Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Miguel Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Real Salvador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Nunes came free, but Miguel Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Ronaldo Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Real Salvador FC's Leonel Correia broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Benê Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Gomes having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Rodolfo Nunes in the 67th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Benê Motta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to Real Salvador FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Marcelo Vieira hit a great ball. Rodolfo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Gomes having to interfere. Miguel Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Nunes in the 75th minute of play. Miguel Gomes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benê Motta in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Nunes in the 83rd minute of play forced Real Salvador FC's goalkeeper Miguel Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Nunes struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Miguel Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapiuna. 90 minutes into the game, Real Salvador FC's Ediberto Camargo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guto Melo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Wanderson Camargo's late challenge caught a Itapiuna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wanderson Camargo helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Real Salvador FC got a freekick which was hit by Wanderson Camargo. For all the effort they put into the match, the Itapiuna players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Real Salvador FC.
