Blue Mountain State's Dalmo Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Blue Mountain State from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Renato Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Mountain State's supporters rose to their feet, but Renato Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magno Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute of the match, Víktor Carioca tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dalmo Bastos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Murillo Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to Oneide getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Horácio Amaral hit a great ball. Severino Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Severino Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Oneide fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Oneide's Magno Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Godoi in the 30th minute of play. José Maria Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Víktor Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Dalmo Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo Tróia's late challenge caught a Oneide's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haroldo Tróia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th minute, Rodrigo Dracena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oneide fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Víktor Carioca made a kick off. Rodrigo Dracena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalmo Bastos having to make a save. Magno Andrade made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Renato Godoi sent off a good shot on target. Víktor Carioca struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Dalmo Bastos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oneide. Claudinho Ferraz's late challenge caught a Oneide's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Ferraz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Blue Mountain State getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Claudinho Ferraz hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Renato Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Magno Andrade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tostão Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Magno Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Víktor Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Haroldo Tróia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. In the 84th match minute, Blue Mountain State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Tróia to maneuver through the defense. Víktor Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Bastos having to interfere. Oneide's Magno Andrade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Oneide from getting a goal against them. In the 95th match minute, Oneide was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Costa to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
