The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Washington Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás Tasso in the 4th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Thomás Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Poeiras's Cido Gonçalves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Washington Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18thth minute of the game Cido Gonçalves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo FC's Washington Santana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Poeiras's Ulisses de Mendonça got control of the ball when Deivid Arantes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thomás Tasso struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Washington Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poeiras. Cido Gonçalves took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Washington Santana. Washington Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Ulisses de Mendonça didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Flamengo FC's Deivid Arantes shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When Poeiras's Thomás Tasso in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flamengo FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ulisses de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deivid Arantes was the one to do the kick off. Washington Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomás Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Washington Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás Tasso in the 59th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Flamengo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás Tasso came free, but Washington Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dedé Eger fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flamengo FC's protests and gave Dedé Eger a yellow card for diving instead. Dedé Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cido Gonçalves got free with Washington Santana in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Washington Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Tasso in the 76th minute of play. Washington Santana made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Cido Gonçalves sent off a good shot on target. Cido Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Santana having to interfere. Cido Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Washington Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poeiras. Thomás Tasso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Washington Santana having to make a save. In the 91st play minute Cido Gonçalves came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Washington Santana. 1-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deivid Arantes in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulisses de Mendonça saved Poeiras from getting behind. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Poeiras walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
