When Adhemar Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When Edgard Romero fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cururupe FC's protests and gave Edgard Romero a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cururupe FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Edgard Romero hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Edgard Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Timbiras FC's Nilmar Paulista broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 57 minutes into the match, Cururupe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Urbano came free, but Tony Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiaguinho Abreu struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Mané de Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cururupe FC. When Tiaguinho Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Cururupe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiaguinho Abreu couldn't finish the play. Tony Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
