In the 12th minute João Pedro Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Nunes in the 15th minute of play forced Trigolandia's goalkeeper Severino Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Damião struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Luís Motta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trigolandia. Romeu de Alcântara scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severino Pombal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 29 minutes into the game, Ouro Verde Esporte Clube's Luís Eduardo Trancoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Pombal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Benjamin Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Luís Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabriel Macedo in the 41st minute. Romeu de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Pombal having to interfere. The Trigolandia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ouro Verde Esporte Clube were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romeu de Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luís Eduardo Trancoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 59 minutes into the game, Benjamin Damião cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Luís Motta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 62nd minute Jacinto Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ouro Verde Esporte Clube's Luís Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Damião in the 64th minute of play. Orlando Freitas's late challenge caught a Trigolandia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlando Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ouro Verde Esporte Clube's Orlando Freitas got a free kick in the 65th minute.
