Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Téo Coelho got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Appenzeller was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Esteves to maneuver through the defense. When Téo Coelho fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombeira SC's protests and gave Téo Coelho a yellow card for diving instead. Téo Coelho hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Téo Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jeferson Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pombeira SC's zone, Jânio Arantes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Moraes came out of the goal and Jânio Arantes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Abel Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Téo Coelho scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeferson Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Franklin Carneiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Moraes. That made the score 1-1 in the 34 minute of play. Appenzeller's Jânio Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes in the game, Abel Esteves fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Paulo Moraes having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Jânio Arantes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Moraes. Pombeira SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jânio Arantes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 49th minute Franklin Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
Franklin Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremias Pimenta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Moraes having to make a save. Paulo Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Pombeira SC's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Arantes came free, but Paulo Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pombeira SC's zone, Jeremias Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Moraes came out of the goal and Jeremias Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jeremias Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Appenzeller's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Pimenta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Esteves in the 82nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Jeremias Pimenta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Moraes was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Pombeira SC's zone, Franklin Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Moraes came out of the goal and Franklin Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Franklin Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Appenzeller fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Carneiro couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute Jeremias Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Paulo Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
