Geovanni Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Hortêncio Saraiva fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 25th play minutes Hortêncio Saraiva shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Igor das Neves and just under the crossbar into goal. Zé Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murillo Borges having to interfere. When Anderson Salles came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Maringa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anderson Salles couldn't finish the play. After 31 minutes, Anderson Salles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maringa and the Jericoacoara players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice moves Geovanni Trigo could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Igor das Neves however easily saved by the left post. Igor das Neves made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Geovanni Trigo sent off a good shot on target. Geovanni Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Igor das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Hortêncio Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor das Neves made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Geovanni Trigo sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Maringa's zone, José Vítor Pernambucano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor das Neves came out of the goal and José Vítor Pernambucano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geovanni Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor das Neves having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Geovanni Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio Saraiva in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor das Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Igor das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Igor das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanni Trigo in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Igor das Neves saved Maringa from getting behind. Igor das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maringa's Anderson Salles got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Anderson Salles off the ground. In the 69th minute, Anderson Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Saraiva in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Igor das Neves saved Maringa from getting behind. Renatinho Fonseca's late challenge caught a Maringa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renatinho Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maringa booed when Jericoacoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renatinho Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hortêncio Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Igor das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hortêncio Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Igor das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Saraiva in the 83rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Hortêncio Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jericoacoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Igor das Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, Maringa's goal looked a bit too open when José Vítor Pernambucano came free, but Igor das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. When Jericoacoara's Hortêncio Saraiva in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maringa's goalie prevented a goal. If Hortêncio Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maringa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
