Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Severino Matos started the match with the kick off. Luís Paulo Aparecido scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldão Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dito Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Abelardo Pontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Mazinho Mandrak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 15 minutes, Dito Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. cruzeiro esporte clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dito Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Saguoes SC's zone, Wilian Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Mandrak came out of the goal and Wilian Loyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dito Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tarcisio Penha fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saguoes SC's protests and gave Tarcisio Penha a yellow card for diving instead. Tarcisio Penha hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Severino Matos in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ronaldão Paiva, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Aparecido in the 24th minute of play forced cruzeiro esporte clube's goalkeeper Ronaldão Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mazinho Mandrak came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by cruzeiro esporte clube's Abelardo Pontes. But to his dismay, Abelardo Pontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Luís Paulo Aparecido hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Abelardo Pontes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Mazinho Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for cruzeiro esporte clube. Ronaldão Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Matos in the 31st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Abelardo Pontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mazinho Mandrak was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. A hard shot 39 in the game by Marcelo Pereira from a close distance when the talented Ronaldão Paiva managed to make a qualified save. cruzeiro esporte clube's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Pontes in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mazinho Mandrak saved Saguoes SC from getting behind. Durvalino Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abelardo Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Mazinho Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abelardo Pontes was the one to do the kick off. When Thiago Magalhães fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The shot was a little too simple and Mazinho Mandrak could save by the left post. cruzeiro esporte clube's Ronaldão Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Matos in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, cruzeiro esporte clube's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Aparecido came free, but Ronaldão Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Matos in the 72nd minute of play forced cruzeiro esporte clube's goalkeeper Ronaldão Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Paulo Aparecido took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldão Paiva. Ronaldão Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. After 76 played minutes cruzeiro esporte clube got a freekick which was hit by Dito Nogueira. After a rather tough play, cruzeiro esporte clube's Abelardo Pontes got a free kick in the 78th minute. A collision led to cruzeiro esporte clube getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Duarte Pires hit a great ball. Ronaldão Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Matos in the 89th minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Durvalino Sabóia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Ronaldão Paiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Durvalino Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Saguoes SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Sabóia couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Saguoes SC fully deserved thier win.
