Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dé Quaresma took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alagoa's goalkeeper Ronaldão Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Caco das Neves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alagoa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Laerte Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borebi's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão Travassos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dé Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Laerte Lira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronaldão Travassos. Alagoa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laerte Lira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Serginho Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Freitas having to interfere. Caco das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute Serginho Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ademir Aparecido fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alagoa's protests and gave Ademir Aparecido a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Alagoa got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Aparecido. Caco das Neves struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Geovânio Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alagoa. Laerte Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serginho Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio Freitas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serginho Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. Alagoa's Caco das Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Geovânio Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Cunha in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Otávio Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the game, Lúcio Recife was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borebi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alagoa the free kick. After a rather tough play, Borebi's Sebastião Marquez got a free kick in the 65th minute. Luís Fábio Mesquita hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Alagoa's Tião de Amorim tried to score from far away in the 67th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Caco das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Sebastião Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Lira got free with Ronaldão Travassos in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldão Travassos was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Dé Quaresma capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dé Quaresma really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Laerte Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Travassos having to interfere. With a little luck, Alagoa's Ronaldão Travassos got control of the ball when Laerte Lira tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Quaresma in the 89th minute of play forced Alagoa's goalkeeper Ronaldão Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovânio Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Cunha in the 91st minute of the match. Alagoa's Caco das Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Borebi walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
