The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Fernando Vieira during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Cortez got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Vieira. With a little luck, Cortez's João Tróia got control of the ball when Tony Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benedito Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Dias in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Alfredo Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cortez fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Tony Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Cortez getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Abraão hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Queiroz during the 31st minute. Quexados's Aloísio Maia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cortez. In the 34th minute, one of Quexados:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Quexados. Benedito Azevedo went to the wrong direction when Arthur Quintal was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Benedito Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Fernando Vieira went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The attack was good, but when Tony Carneiro in the 45th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Doriva Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Tróia having to interfere.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doriva Cardoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benedito Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Vieira in the 53rd minute of play. João Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Cardoso in the 59th minute of the match. Tony Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. João Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alfredo Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Quexados's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Queiroz came free, but Benedito Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Quexados's Benedito Azevedo got control of the ball when Alfredo Dias tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Cortez's Carlos Fernando Vieira in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Doriva Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Tróia having to interfere. Cortez's Carlos Fernando Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfredo Dias's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benedito Azevedo firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Alfredo Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cortez walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
