The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lino Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Eliseu Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute Marco Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Luís Fabiano Ferraz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Escadão FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Lino Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alessandro Silveira made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Aníbal Arantes sent off a good shot on target. Alessandro Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aníbal Arantes in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Ah! Deixa pra lá's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Gomes came free, but Eliseu Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Motta in the 28th minute of play forced Ah! Deixa pra lá's goalkeeper Eliseu Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aníbal Arantes got free with Alessandro Silveira in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richard Motta in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Salles saved Ah! Deixa pra lá from getting behind. If Marco Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 35 minutes, Lino Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escadão FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 37 played minutes Escadão FC got a freekick which was hit by Richard Motta. Lino Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aníbal Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Silveira having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Cunha to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Ah! Deixa pra lá got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Porto. Zé Pedro Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Richard Motta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Eliseu Salles made a huge save. Eliseu Salles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Carioca in the 67th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Ah! Deixa pra lá's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Gomes came free, but Eliseu Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseu Salles made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Miguel Rosa sent off a good shot on target.
