After a rather tough play, Paçoca FC's Betão Vieira got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Guto Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Barbosa in the 5th minute of play. Paçoca FC were furious when Alfredinho Mattos was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Nelsinho Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Santana in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Paçoca FC's Dedé Paes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nelsinho Penha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 17 minutes into the match, Paçoca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Cruz came free, but Guto Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Dorian Santana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dorian Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Penha having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pirainha's zone, Dedé Paes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Penha came out of the goal and Dedé Paes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorian Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Penha having to interfere. Nelsinho Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Dorian Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paçoca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorian Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute Sérgio Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Dedé Paes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nelsinho Penha. Pirainha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedé Paes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Geovani Luz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Paçoca FC's Vinícius Cardoso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pirainha. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Paçoca FC's Dedé Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guto Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Régis Aguiar in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Paçoca FC's Dedé Paes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nelsinho Penha. Nelsinho Penha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Dedé Paes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Paçoca FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dorian Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Penha having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Dedé Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Pirainha's goal looked a bit too open when Betão Vieira came free, but Nelsinho Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dedé Paes came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Paçoca FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedé Paes couldn't finish the play. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
